The warm weather is here and summer fun has already begun! This year things may look a little different but it doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy summer fun and time with friends. Here are 6 inexpensive things you can do to make the most out of your 2020 summer.
- Host a girls day clothes or bag swap
I did this years ago with a group of girls and it was so much fun. Invite your girls over and tell them to go through their closets and take out all the old clothes and bags they no longer use or want and bring them with! Lay it all out on some tables or blankets and then go shopping! You and your friends all get cute new things for free and you get to clean out your closet.
- Have a picnic at a park
Find a park you don’t usually go to, do some research and find a beautiful place you can get together with your close friends, grab some food and a blanket and enjoy time together outdoors. If you’re in Las Vegas one of my favorites is Floyd Lamb, it’s chalk full of animals, lakes and beautiful scenery.
- Host a movie night
Whether you project a movie in your backyard or curl up on the couch inside, everyone loves a good movie night! Pick a classic or a new release, grab your popcorn and candy and just chill.
- Have a dinner party
Have everyone bring a dish and their favorite wine! You could even give it a theme like bringing a dish that you grew up eating or something that reflects your heritage. Nothing brings people together like great food and sharing stories about what defined them.
- Create dream boards with old magazines
Get creative! It seems like we all have a pile of old magazines laying around the house, grab some poster board and go through your magazines or print some pictures from the internet and create a dream board of all the things you want to do in your life. It’s not only a great way for you to remind yourself daily of what you want out of life but you can create deeper connections with those around you learning about what drives them and what they want to experience as well.
- Go for a hike
Hiking gives you so many options, whether you are a seasoned hiker or just want an easy trail you can find something that suits you. A great site you can check out is Alltrails.com, they offer details about trails all over the world so you know what you’re getting into before you go. Don’t be afraid to expand! A few weeks ago a friend and I loaded up the car with our pups and drove 3 hours to Utah to take a beautiful hike up in Dixie National forest. We got a short road trip, an amazing hike and only spent money on gas!
